Our "Confidential"
Grand Cru

Confidential estate, nestled at the foot of a hillside, Château Le Conte is located in the town of Saint-Hippolyte, a small town which is part of the  Saint-Emilion district, listed as a world heritage site by the UNESCO.

Hugues trained just a few miles from Château le Conte, with our native neighbor, also from the Gers, Pierre Saillan. It was at that time that he met Jean-Pierre and that the Invindia new adventure was born.

Taken over in 2017, Château Le Conte was then an estate in need of restructuring. The vines, although maintained, could use extra care. The building also needed to be completely restored, as only the cellar was in good condition. Back then all the wines were sold in bulk. From the moment of acquisition, titanic work was undertaken in the vineyard and on the building to offer a dynamic wine tourism offer and quality wines.

At the cellar level, we have reviewed the logic behind the maturing of our wines, we no longer rely solely on the barrel. We now also use a Galileo spherical concrete tank and other concrete tanks, notably for our sulfur-free Saint-Émilion, the Fantaisie du Conte.

Château le Conte today is a place that will completely transport you into the world of Invindia through the two wines that we produce on this estate. And thanks to its luxury accommodation offer, for a unique stay in the very heart of the Saint-Émilion vineyard.

Cépages & terroir

Located at the foot of the hillside, the 5 hectares of Château le Conte are situated on a single terroir, surrounding the estate building. The top two meters of soil are clay-sandy, followed by asteriated limestone, which originated from shells deposited 40 million years ago when this area was submerged.

Only one grape variety is planted at Château le Conte: Merlot. The parcels are planted with a density of 5,000 vines per hectare, and we have one parcel pruned in the Cordon de Royat style to limit production and concentrate the berries as much as possible, enhancing the soil-plant relationship.
